Trainee Golf Professional / Qualified PGA Professional

Strathaven Golf Club is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team in a full-time position.

We are open to applications from both Trainee Golf Professionals and Qualified Golf Professionals, and the role can be shaped around the experience, strengths and interests of the successful candidate.

Role

The position will be approximately 30–35 hours per week (shop hours), although we are happy to be flexible in either direction depending on the individual, their experience and their particular areas of interest.

We are looking for someone who is personable, reliable, driven and passionate about golf, with a genuine interest in providing an excellent experience for members and visitors.

Depending on experience and interests, the role could include involvement in areas such as:

– Golf shop operations and customer service
– Coaching and development of individual lessons and group coaching
– Junior golf development
– Club competitions and member services
– Retail, merchandising and stock management
– Club fitting and equipment advice
– Supporting the continued development of the professional offering at Strathaven Golf Club

Strathaven Golf Club is a busy 18-hole members’ club with a full membership membership and a healthy waiting list.

The club offers an excellent range of Professional and coaching facilities, including:

– A busy Professional Shop providing retail and club repair service
– Practice ground
– Indoor swing studio using TrackMan 4
– Indoor putting studio using SAM PuttLab
– Dedicated chipping green
– Putting green

These facilities provide an excellent environment for coaching, club fitting, player development and members looking to improve all areas of their game.

For a trainee, the position would provide an excellent opportunity to develop experience across the different areas of the golf profession, while a qualified professional would have scope to bring their own experience, ideas and areas of expertise to the role.

Hours, responsibilities and remuneration will be discussed with candidates and tailored appropriately according to experience and qualifications.
