Pinner Hill Golf Club is seeking an ambitious, enthusiastic and member-focused PGA Qualified Head Professional to lead and develop our professional services, coaching programmes and retail operation.

Established in 1928, Pinner Hill is a highly regarded private members club featuring a classic course designed by the legendary J.H. Taylor, five-time Open Champion. Set amidst beautiful rolling parkland and mature woodland, the club offers a challenging and enjoyable golfing experience, complemented by a welcoming membership and a thriving golfing community. The course remains largely faithful to Taylor’s original vision and is recognised as one of the most enjoyable and historic layouts in the region.

As we continue to invest in the future of the club and approach our centenary, we are seeking an exceptional PGA Professional to build upon our strong foundations and play a key role in shaping the future of golf at Pinner Hill.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a professional who is passionate about coaching, growing participation and delivering exceptional service.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and leading all aspects of the club’s professional offering, including coaching, player development, retail operations and customer service.

Key responsibilities will include:

Coaching & Golf Development

  • Deliver high-quality individual and group coaching programmes for members and visitors of all abilities.
  • Continue the growth and success of our established Junior Academy, encouraging participation and creating pathways for young golfers to develop and thrive.
  • Further expand our successful Women’s Academy and Ladies’ Golf Programmes, introducing new golfers to the game and supporting their progression into membership.
  • Develop innovative beginner, intermediate and advanced coaching initiatives.
  • Create and deliver junior camps, clinics, group sessions and golf development programmes throughout the year.
  • Promote participation and enjoyment of golf across all sections of the club.
  • Support member recruitment and retention through engaging coaching and academy programmes.

Professional Shop & Operations

The Head Professional will be expected to successfully manage and operate the Club’s Professional Shop as a key part of the member and visitor experience.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the day-to-day operation of the Professional Shop.
  • Providing a welcoming, professional and customer-focused service to members and visitors.
  • Managing visitor and member tee bookings in partnership with the club administration team.
  • Overseeing the club’s buggy hire operation and related customer services.
  • Advising members and visitors on golf equipment, apparel and accessories.
  • Developing a strong retail offering that enhances both member satisfaction and commercial performance.
  • Maintaining attractive merchandising, stock control and supplier relationships.
  • Identifying opportunities to grow retail sales and coaching revenue.
  • Ensuring the professional operation remains aligned with the club’s strategic objectives and commitment to excellent customer service.

Member & Club Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with members, guests and visitors.
  • Work collaboratively with the General Manager, Board of Directors, committees and club staff.
  • Represent the club professionally and positively at all times.
  • Contribute to club events, competitions and promotional activities.
  • Help foster the friendly, inclusive and welcoming culture that defines Pinner Hill Golf Club.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful applicant will:

  • Be a fully qualified PGA Professional.
  • Have a proven track record in golf coaching and player development.
  • Demonstrate a passion for growing the game of golf.
  • Have experience in retail and golf operations management.
  • Show a strong commitment to developing junior and women’s golf.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Be highly organised, motivated and commercially aware.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership qualities and a proactive approach to business development.
  • Be committed to delivering outstanding customer service and member satisfaction.
