Assistant PGA Golf Professional

Hours: Approximately 30 shop hours per week, plus coaching
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Contract: Permanent – Full time

About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly and motivated Assistant PGA Golf Professional to join our busy and forward thinking golf operation.

This is an excellent opportunity for a PGA Professional who is passionate about golf, coaching, retail and customer service, and who wants to develop their career within a progressive golf club environment.

You will play an important role in the day to day running of the professional shop, while also having the opportunity to build and develop your own coaching portfolio.

As Assistant PGA Professional, your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with the day to day operation of the professional shop
• Providing an exceptional level of customer service to members and visitors
• Retail sales, stock management and merchandising
• Club fitting and equipment advice
• Supporting the Head Professional with the smooth running of the golf operation
• Delivering individual and group golf coaching
• Developing and maintaining your own coaching client base
• Making effective use of TrackMan, Foresight GC Quad and Toptracer technology
• Supporting junior golf, beginner programmes and member development
• Assisting with competitions, events and club activities
• Helping to create a welcoming, friendly and professional environment for all golfers

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is:

• A PGA Professional or PGA trainee/assistant professional
• Passionate and enthusiastic about golf
• Confident and personable with excellent communication skills
• Customer focused with a professional approach
• Comfortable working in a busy retail environment
• Keen to develop their coaching and fitting skills
• Interested in using technology to enhance coaching and player development
• Reliable, organised and able to work effectively as part of a team
• Commercially aware and motivated to contribute to the continued success of the golf operation

Previous experience in a busy professional shop and/or coaching environment would be advantageous, but attitude, enthusiasm and a desire to develop are equally important.
