PGA Trainee / Assistant Professional – Sedlescombe Golf Club, East Sussex

Sedlescombe Golf Club is looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious PGA Trainee or aspiring PGA Professional to join our Golf team at an exciting stage in the development of the Club.

The position would suit somebody already undertaking their PGA training, or a suitable candidate looking to begin the PGA programme and develop their career within a busy Golf environment.

The role will combine regular Pro Shop hours with the opportunity to build a strong coaching diary and become involved in the continued development of the Sedlescombe Golf Academy.

Sedlescombe offers an excellent environment in which to develop as a Golf Professional, with:

An 18-hole golf course
A separate 9-hole Par 3 course
Extensive practice facilities
A busy driving range, with Toptracer technology being installed in October 2026
A developing Golf Academy
Opportunities for individual and group coaching

A busy membership and visitor operation

The role will include:

Pro Shop duties and customer service
Member and visitor enquiries
Golf bookings and day-to-day Golf operations
Retail sales and merchandising
Club repairs and basic Golf equipment services
Supporting competitions and Club events
Driving-range and Toptracer customer service
Individual coaching
Group coaching opportunities
Supporting Junior and beginner Academy programmes
Helping promote coaching, Academy activities and Golf events

There will be significant opportunity for the successful candidate to develop their own coaching income, particularly as the new Toptracer range and Sedlescombe Golf Academy continue to grow.

We are looking for somebody who is friendly, professional and comfortable dealing with members and visitors. More importantly, we want somebody who is ambitious, enjoys working as part of a team and wants to develop into a well-rounded PGA Professional.

The successful candidate should have:

A genuine passion for Golf and the PGA profession
Excellent communication and customer-service skills
A positive and proactive attitude
A willingness to coach and develop their teaching business
Good organisational skills
High standards of personal presentation and professionalism
A willingness to become involved in all areas of the Golf operation
Previous Pro Shop or Golf Club experience would be advantageous, but attitude, personality and enthusiasm are equally important.
