Work Experience
My first part of experience came from working at my local golf club as part of a work experience week that was mandatory at school. I did some work in the pro shop with the pro which involved logging delivery’s, going down to the range with him while he gave lessons and listening in and sometimes giving my thoughts, and making sales and advising people what is best for what they are looking for.
Another part to my experience is working behind the bar at a pub called The Royal Albion, where I learned how to work alone and as part of a team. While providing friendly and fast customer service, while also learning who all the locals where and being friendly to them as a new face, during busy events too I also worked a bit as a runner, making sure that the outside and inside bar were fully stocked with drinks and clean glasses. I was only at the pub for about 3 months before I flew to the USA for college but absolutely loved every moment of it.
Skills
I am strong within working in a team environment, having played competitive golf for many years most recently in college. But also playing many sports through my life both in and out of school. But also, being part of a bar team who I worked long shifts with a few times a week.
My customer service is very strong I enjoy both talking to and meeting new people a lot as I am a very chatty and confident person. Another aspect of this is that I am a very strong communicator, especially with those who I work with.
I’m a very organised person, which means that I organise my time well, for golf I have to be very organised with my time especially before a tournament, I have to factor in drive time and all aspects and shots of a warmup that I might do before I play and this translates well into work, I was never late to a shift and always aimed to arrive 15 minutes early so I could get ready into work clothes.
