Assistant Professional

Ipswich Golf Club is looking to recruit a full-time member of staff to join our Pro Shop team from 1 December 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and personable individual who enjoys being involved in the day-to-day operation of a busy members’ golf club.

The role will have a strong focus on Pro Shop retail and golf administration, working alongside the Head Professional and existing team to provide a high standard of service to members and visitors.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Providing excellent customer service within the Pro Shop.
• Retail sales, merchandising and day-to-day shop operations.
• Competition administration, including competition set-up, entries, results and general golf administration.
• Assisting members and visitors with tee bookings, competitions and general golf enquiries.
• Supporting the Professional team with the smooth running of golf operations.

Additional skills that would be beneficial:

• Club repairs and re-gripping.
• Golf coaching.
• Custom fitting knowledge and experience.

Experience in these areas would be an advantage, but they are not essential to the role.

We are looking for someone who is:

• Friendly, professional and comfortable working in a customer-facing environment.
• Organised and confident with administration and computer systems.
• Knowledgeable and enthusiastic about golf.
• Interested in golf retail and delivering a high level of member service.
• Able to work effectively as part of a small Pro Shop team.
• Flexible and willing to work a mixture of weekdays and weekends.

This is a full-time position, with working hours structured around the requirements of the golf club and Pro Shop.

Salary and employment package will be dependent on experience and qualifications.
