Tenterden golf club is seeking to employ a PGA Professional to join the club as our new Head PGA Professional

This is an exciting opportunity to take on a senior role at a time when we are reshaping our golf operation including a new Professional shop.

Tenterden golf club is an established private members club within the Historic  town of Tenterden. Over the last few years the golf club has gone through a restructure and seen financial investment, including the development of a new professional shop. We are a friendly and welcoming club with a strong focus on providing an excellent experience for members guests and visitors whilst continuing to develop the commercial side of the golf operation.

The opportunity

The successful candidate will be a key member of the clubs senior team and one of the most visible faces of Tenterden Golf Club working closely with the General Manager and fellow Heads of Department.

The head PGA Professional will take responsibility for the Professional and commercial direction of the clubs golf retail operation. We see considerable opportunity to develop this area of the business and we are looking for someone who can combine the qualities of an excellent golf Professional with a strong commercial instinct.

Responsibilities will include purchasing stock, stock management, supplier relations, merchandising, margin management, promotions, identifying opportunities to grow the retail operation.

Beyond retail, the Head Professional will play an important role in the wider development of member and visitor golf and other golf related Revenue opportunities. The Head Professional will  manage the existing team in delivering the day-to-day operations in the golf shop, maintaining excellent standards of presentation and customer service.

The employed element of the position is based on a flexible 25 hour week according to the clubs needs. Alongside this the Head Professional will have the opportunity to develop a strong coaching business.

We’re looking for a PGA qualified Professional who is enthusiastic and commercially minded with the confidence to become an important part of the clubs leadership team.

Experience of golf retail purchasing, club fitting and shop management is desirable alongside a strong interest in developing a successful coaching program. Above all we want someone who wants to become an integral part of the club.
