Scottish Golf Regional Performance Coach

Join Scottish Golf as a Regional Performance Coach and play a key role in helping talented young players progress through our performance pathway. As part of the Performance Team, you will deliver high-quality regional coaching, support individual player development and work collaboratively with personal coaches, parents and Scottish Golf staff to help players prepare for the next stage of their golfing journey.

Launching in October 2026, the Regional Performance Development Programme will align with Scottish Golf’s national player pathway and provide aspiring players with age and stage-appropriate coaching, competition preparation and personal development support within a structured regional environment. The programme will help players build the technical, tactical, physical, mental and lifestyle competencies required to maximise their potential and progress through the pathway.

The role is based on approximately 20 days of coaching each year, together with attendance at Scottish Golf team meetings and agreed events. The Regional Performance Coach will be responsible for planning and delivering regional performance sessions in line with the programme curriculum, the player development framework and agreed competition guidance. The postholder will work with players and their personal coaches to develop individual development plans, monitor progress, share insight with the Scottish Golf Performance Team and collaborate with relevant support staff to provide joined-up athlete development support.

The role will work closely with a range of stakeholders, including players, parents, national coaches and key external partners.

This role requires an excellent communicator who can build strong relationships, collaborate effectively and motivate and inspire players to improve and progress through the pathway. The successful candidate will be self-driven, able to work independently, and able to demonstrate a strong track record of developing performance golfers within a positive, values-led and evidence-informed coaching environment.
