Royal Troon Golf Club is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and personable individual to join its Pro Shop Team as an Unregistered PGA Trainee Professional.

This is a unique opportunity for an aspiring PGA Professional to begin their career.

Working alongside an experienced team of PGA Professionals, the successful candidate will gain valuable practical experience across the many aspects of the golf trade, developing the skills, knowledge and professionalism required to pursue a successful career within the golf industry.

The Role

The successful candidate will play an active role in the day-to-day operation of the Professional Shop and wider golf operation, supporting the delivery of an exceptional experience for members, guests and visitors.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Providing a warm, professional and welcoming service to members, guests and visitors.
• Assisting with the day-to-day operation of the Professional Shop.
• Developing knowledge of golf equipment, product ranges, club fitting and equipment repairs.
• Supporting junior golf and coaching activities, where appropriate to experience and qualifications.
• Maintaining the presentation and organisation of the Professional Shop and associated areas.
• Working collaboratively with the Professional Team and other Club departments to uphold Royal Troon’s high standards.
• Demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning, personal development and the professional values expected of an aspiring PGA Member.

• Applications are welcomed from individuals who are not yet registered on the PGA training programme or are in their 1st year and are looking to take their first steps towards a career as a PGA Professional.
