WORK EXPERIENCE

HGV Driver

AO.com – Crewe – March 2022 to present

Driving articulated Class 1 vehicles from our Crewe Depot to warehouses and depots

across the UK. I carry out daily vehicle safety checks on my HGV and trailer and

liaise with planners. Communication in this role is important as there is specific drop

off and pick up slots so that the goods can be delivered in time. As part of my job I

also shunt trailers across our three sites in Crewe, ensuring they are at the correct

loading bays in time for my warehouse colleagues to load the trailers ready for

dispatch. In this role I show excellent yard management, communication and team

work to ensure the job is carried out to the highest standard. In my time at AO.com, I

was entrusted to train new colleagues within the first three months of my contract. I

also created training videos which were sent out across our depot to help refresh and

train my colleagues.

HGV Driver

Eddie Stobart – Stoke – February 2021 to March 2022

Driving articulated Class 1 vehicles (containers) from depots in Stoke and Widnes to

Ports, Warehouses, and depots across the North of the UK. I carry out daily vehicle

safety checks on my HGV and trailer and liaise with planners. Communication in this

role is important as there is specific drop off and pick up slots so that the shipments

can leave the ports on time.

HGV Driver

Ocado – Dordon, Tamworth – February 2020 to February 2021

Driving articulated Class 1 double-decker trailers with refrigeration units to Ocado

depots. Loading and unloading of goods when required. Proven record of excellent

time management and flexibility to suit the business needs.

Warehouse Colleague

Wincanton Screwfix – November 2017 to February 2020

In this role I have had training in various aspects of the business including driving

VNA and Llop trucks, Order Picking and as a Goods in and Bay Controller. In this

role I was involved in the receiving of trucks and arranging and delegating the

unloading of the trailer in a timely fashion to ensure a quick turnaround of the

vehicles.

Office Administrator

TSB Bank plc – Birmingham – February 2017 to June 2017

Responsibilities

During the period of my placement I was mainly based as a phone operator within the

Account Switching Team handling customer queries and issues. This would involve

monitoring the Switch progression and advising the customer on appropriate actions

regarding their accounts.

Delivery Driver

Ocado – Tamworth – July 2015 to February 2017

In this role I delivered customers orders to their doors.

In this position I showed both good time keeping and customer service. This job

allowed me to develop skills of self-management and problem solving as the work

involved a good deal of customer liaison and an element of decision-making in

resolving problems.

Warehouse Assistant

Ocado – Tamworth – January 2015 to July 2015

Ocado is the largest online groceries supermarket in the country.

This role involved working in a freezer and a chilled area, packing food products for

customers. This has given me experience in a target-driven environment and shown

me how the company works together.

With this I have also gained insight on how the operation works and have learned how

to work well both in a team and independently.

Store Assistant

Home Sense – Solihull – August 2014 to December 2014

Duties

Serving customers on till, cash handling, maintaining displays on the shop floor,

processing stock deliveries and stock-filling. Working flexible shifts to meet business

needs including late-night deliveries.

ISA processor

TSB Bank plc – Birmingham – February 2014 to April 2014

TSB is a high street banking group, and my role was to facilitate the transfer and

interest payments of new ISA products. This role was a temporary placement by The

Reed Agency to cover the annual tax deadline for the transference of ISA savings

products.

The work involved the calculation and applying of interest to customer accounts, also

the quality checking of date input from other team members and general office duties.

Skills and interests

I hold full clean car, motorcycle and Class 1 HGV driving licences.

My interests include playing guitar, being a very active member of my local gym and

general fitness and health. Having gained a level 1 qualification in rock climbing in

my teens I am keen to return to this at some stage. I have played golf since I was nine

years old with my grandad, I have been a member of multiple golf clubs and have also

played with my grandad in America. In my spare time I enjoy the driving range and

try to get to the courses in my local area as often as the weather allows.
