My role at Downes Crediton golf club is the ensure the day to day running of the tee sheet making sure that members and guests are welcomed to the golf course and are well aware of anything that might be going on throughout the day or any rules that the clubs require them to follow, I also had to run competitions throughout the week included paying out the winners with prize money. Other task I had in the retail side of the business was to be able to give my professional knowledge of the latest equipment or stock that we may have in the professional shop to allow customers to understand the differences between equipment and how it may improve their golf game also finally being a PGA professional golfer allows me to coach amateur golfers and help them improve their golf game this also means that I have to be able to work in a hands on role with an engaging and informative style of coaching which allows my clients to understand and quickly adapt to what I am trying to teach them.
Barman
Downes Crediton Golf Club
September 2011- May 2014
During this time, I was front of house for Downes Crediton golf club serving drinks and taking orders for the members and visitors that we would have during the week. I would also look at what is selling well on the bar and speak to sales reps from different companies about their products and how they are doing on the bar. I would be very hands on with all functions and parties that the golf club may have been running from greeting guests and getting them to their seats to serving drinks and sorting the bill for them finally I also had the responsibility to shut down the bar including doing the end of day money on the till and making sure that the float was all correct to closing down the entire building and setting the alarms before I left.
Waiter
Downes Crediton Golf Club
December 2009-May 2014
This was my very first job that had with it being at first waiter for the bigger function and parties that might have been held at the club with their being some occasions at the start to work during the day for the bigger society bookings or opens. After I finished my schoolwork, I became full time as a server for the catering side with responsibility of taking orders from customers, dealing with any issues that could be had during the day like allergies or seating arrangements for any functions we may have. I also help the head chef with any preparation of food during a busy day to help with the speed of service, near the end of my time in the catering side of the business I was giving the chance to direct the team on how the evenings may run or how we would be serving.
