Established in the late 1970s (with championship play commencing in the early 1990s), The Dorset Golf & Country Club is a premier golf resort set in 300 acres of beautiful Dorset countryside near Bere Regis. Designed by renowned architect Martin Hawtree, the club features 27 holes of championship golf across three distinct nine-hole loops: the Lakeland, Parkland, and Woodland courses. These layouts combine to create flexible 18-hole combinations, offering challenging parkland golf with strategic water hazards (particularly on the Lakeland), large clover-shaped bunkers, undulating USGA-specification greens and tees, and scenic woodland sections.

The courses are built to the highest standards, present excellent playing conditions year-round thanks to superior drainage and irrigation, and have hosted numerous regional championships and events. Rated among the top golf experiences in the South of England and in the Top 150 English courses, the resort is recognised as one of Dorset’s golfing gems, providing a rewarding test for golfers of all abilities while maintaining a friendly, accessible atmosphere.
