Silloth on Solway Golf Club

About the Company

Silloth on Solway Golf Club is one of the finest links golf courses in England and is rated in the top 50 golf courses in the UK.  Situated on the shores of the Solway Firth in North West Cumbria the course has view across to the Scottish Borders on one side and the Lake District on the other.  Silloth is 30 minutes from Carlisle and the M6 so if you are travelling to and from Scotland to play golf then Silloth is a perfect place to stop off.  The UNESCO World Heritage Site The Lake District is also only a 30 minute drive away from the club and is definitely worth visiting while you are in Cumbria.

Our world class links golf course is a traditional 9 out and 9 back layout.  The course has undulating fairways that are flanked with heather and gorse with firm fast greens situated on plateaux’s and in sunken dells. Being a traditional links golf course you will encounter some blind shots but they are only blind the first time you play and once you know what is on the other side you will have the knowledge of a seasoned member.

The high standard of our golf course and food and beverage offerings makes Silloth on Solway Golf Club the perfect choice for members and visitors alike.

Our clubhouse dates back to the early 1900’s and overlooks the 1st tee and 18th green so you can relax and enjoy a drink or two served by our attentive bar staff whilst reminiscing on your round.  Make sure to check out the pictures around the clubhouse too.  Lord Willie Whitelaw was a former president of the club and Cecil Leitch who was one of the best lady golfers of her generation in the early 1900’s grace the walls of the clubhouse along with other historical artefacts.

Most important of all we pride ourselves on our friendly staff who will look after you while you are at the club and help to make your visit to Silloth on Solway Golf Club a memorable one.
