Experience
Graduate applications engineer | renishaw plc | sep 2024 – jun 2025
The initial applications rotation involved learning PC-DMIS (MODUS), basic and advanced, as well as the GD&T training certified by the NPL. Projects involved assessing the requirements of the item, planning out and writing an efficient measurement program, writing a report of the results on software such as QC-CALC highlighting the correct use of dimensioning and tolerances. Equipment used included Agility CMM’s with both 5-axis and 3-axis heads, specialty probes such as the ultrasonic probe and surface finish probes, as well as comparators, Equator 300, 500 and Equator-X.
The second support rotation focused on maintenance and hardware, early training built on the mechanics and functions of CMM’s & comparators, internally built and retrofit machines. External site visits to complete annual maintenance procedures, completing site checks and visit reports, follow commissioning and verification procedures, laser and manual practice, according to ISO-10360 standards. Work with software and metrology teams to sort and file commissioning reports back onto the database according to UKAS certification, following Jira test plans to develop the next iteration of UCC.
goboat crew | goboat uk | aug 2021 – sep 2024
Managed customer service relations, maintenance, and cleaning operations for small electric boats along the Thames and Paddington Canal. Completed smooth handovers, educating clients on boat operation, routes, and safety measures, teaching new crew members on day-to-day tasks. Supervised colleagues, overseeing the Point of Sale (POS) system, and organized breaks during workdays when on management duty.
Actively engaged in sales, promoting merchandise and boat trips to customers. Led efforts in organizing and optimizing the flow of incoming and outgoing boats, ensuring a seamless customer experience. Additionally, demonstrated serviceability by going out on the speedboat to rescue and repair boats and assist customers out on the water, contributing to the optimal performance of the fleet.
tech service intern | inflite the jet centre | jul 2020 – jul 2020
Digitized work processes for mechanics by organizing and transferring paper-based work cards derived from private aircraft manuals. Completed the transition from manual to digital formats, maintaining accessibility and efficiency for mechanics during maintenance tasks. Maintained records of completed tasks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
structural engineer intern | davies maguire | jul 2018 – jul 2018
Utilized CAD software to design a bike shed, ensuring both functionality and aesthetics. Conducted load and stress analysis to validate structural integrity. Contributed to on-site surveying at an office construction project, gaining practical insights into engineering applications. Explored the construction site of the new Google headquarters, acquiring in-depth knowledge of large-scale project dynamics.
These experiences have honed my technical skills and provided a practical understanding of real-world construction processes, ready to apply this knowledge to contribute effectively to engineering projects.
